Yoga is really good for stress relief, and stress is a common factor in people who carry extra weight. When you are stressed your metabolism suffers and you have to work harder to lose weight fast. Stress is also associated with comfort eating (eating to feel better) which is disastrous for weight loss.
Yoga can help you mentally unwind by assisting to lower the hormones that are released in the body when you’re stressed. It may also inspire you to be a more conscious eater, choosing healthy, natural foods and avoiding processed carbohydrates and sugary substances.

Yoga gets your body moving and burns calories, while the spiritual and emotional dimensions of this exercise may even encourage you to address any eating and weight problems on a deeper level.
