When it comes to weight loss, staying healthy throughout the process is key to its ongoing success. As a nutritionist, I see lots of people who have regained the weight after initial weight loss success properly succeed once they bring balance back into the equation.
When your nutrition is out of balance
Nutritionists have always believed that the only way to ensure you maintain your weight loss in the long term is to balance your nutrition, rather than restrict whole food groups. When you are nutritionally unbalanced (i.e. when you severely limit one of the major nutritional food groups like fats, carbohydrates or protein), you place stress on your body that results in future weight gain. Like squirrels stowing away nuts for the cold, dark winter, what happens when your diet is over and you start eating normally again is that your body stores away parcels of energy so that should you experience a dark winter once more, your body will still be able to provide enough energy to cope with daily activities.
Why the bodytrim® program is different
Key to the bodytrim® program is its focus on long term, sustainable weight loss. This means that during the FAST Start, we focus on keeping the body healthy with a nutritionally formulated meal replacement shake 3 times daily, and one healthy meal.
We provide nutritionally balanced meal replacement shakes alongside real food so that you can truly nourish your body while your metabolism fires up for fat loss.
- For the first three days of the mybodytrim program, you consume 3 nutritionally balanced meal replacement shakes alongside 1 healthy meal. The shakes are there to make sure your body can function and you don’t become deficient in key vitamins and minerals while your body gets primed for fat removal.
- In phase 2 of the program you move to eating more nutritionally balanced meals, as you decrease your shake intake to 2 a day and increase your protein snack intake.
- By phase 3 you can choose to eat either 3 balanced meals and 2 protein snacks, or 2 balanced meals, 2 protein snacks, and 1 meal replacement shake.
In all phases of the program, you eat nutritional food so that when you finish the program, you are armed with the skills and expertise to navigate your own new, healthier life without the risk of re-gaining the weight hanging over your head.
