Good question! Hot cross buns generally contain low nutrient- refined white flour, and can contain a considerate amount of added sugar. Your once a week Free Day meal would be the ideal time for a hot cross bun. Unless you can find a wholegrain, low sugar hot cross bun which you could substitute into your meals as the starchy carb serve.
