Can we have cereal, as in a weetbix for breaky – would it be classed as what????
On old system I used to have weetbix and half fruit serve with milk/yoghurt as breaky carb but now not sure????

    Hi Carolyn,

Yes, Weetbix would be considered a starchy carbohydrate and a serving size would be one biscuit (the Food Servings Guides are soon to be updated and will include Weetbix as a starchy carbohydrate option).

For breakfast we recommend 1 serve of starchy or non- starchy carbohydrates plus two serves of protein. You could have your Weetbix with a serving of milk and a serving of yoghurt, or perhaps a serving of yoghurt, a half serving of milk and a half serve of chopped nuts.

    Kindest Regards,

    BT Nutritionist 🙂
