    found the first three days to do so I had to start again. Today is my first Day and it is 4pm and so far good. Mind over matter. Keeping full with water looking forward for my evening protein meal.

    Hi, just done day 4 but keep having stomach pains like cramps and headaches? is this just the body craving something? hope it will pass as i’m determined to make this work!

    Hi Martin,

    Are you making sure you are drinking your 2-3 Litres of water each day? Headaches and stomach discomfort (due to constipation) may be a result of not getting enough fluids which is important during all phases, but especially the first phase of the program.
    Similarly, make sure that you are getting the recommended serves of non- starchy carbohydrate vegetables, these will provide you with fibre which can help with protein digestion and regularity, and therefore prevent stomach discomfort.
    It’s a good idea to mix up your sources of protein, making sure you get a mix of both animal and plant based protein. A high protein load could result in stomach discomfort, plant sourced protein generally has a lower protein content than animal protein so try and include some meat- free options.
    Is this something you have been experiencing since starting the program or more recently? The FAST Shakes are dairy based so some people may find a bit of discomfort with having these if they are lactose intolerant, or even if they are just not used to consuming so much dairy products. With moving on to the next phases of the program we reduce the consumption of FAST Shakes so if it is the shakes that are causing this discomfort then these symptoms should subside.

    I’ve been on the meal replacement shakes for 2 weeks and love them however just noticed that each serve is 19.6g of Sugar !! Isn’t this extremely high as daily recommended intake is 25g and if you are having 2 shakes a day then the sugar intake seems excessive. Am I missing something ?

    Day 8 for me. Weighed in this morning and have lost 2 kilos. Yay. I found the 3 day fast was quite easy, didn’t get REALLY hungry until the 3rd night. Enjoying some of the recipes too, we had Chicken Cacciatore with steamed lo starch veg last night. Yum!Determined to lose weight I am.

    Hi Amanda,

    As these shakes are designed to be Meal Replacements rather than simply protein shakes, they do need to contain a certain amount of energy (amount of Calories) so as to provide the body with sustenance. Some of this energy/Calories is provided by carbohydrates (and sugars), some by protein and some by fats. The majority of sugars in the FAST Shakes is naturally occurring lactose (milk sugar) which is coming from the milk ingredients used in these shakes rather than added sugars. 1 cup of liquid milk for example can contain up to 13g of naturally occurring lactose (sugar).

      Check out our Food Guide pdf from the top left menu as it lists all the main fruit & vegetables and how/when can have these. Bananas are a starchy fruit so you are allowed these when in the Trimsition & Bodytrimming (phases 2 & 3) of the program. Please do limit these to 3 per week. The serving size is approx 1/2 a cup (or one small sized banana).

    Hello Everyone, First day of my weight loss and hoping it will be as good as, the last time I was on BT. I fell off the wagon, last time and have put on more weight. I have a goal,as We are going away with a large group of motorcycle riders in September. We are traveling to Bathurst and staying there for a week. I need to lose weight, as I have a back injury and carrying extra weight isn’t a good idea. So onwards and upwards I go. Looking forward to the my new lifestyle,this time around. Here I go.
