Good morning. Is the fruit list the only fruit allowed? I like grapes/peaches/nectarines etc but they aren’t on the list. Are they not allowed? Also…berries….i am eating blueberries and raspberries….what serving size though as it doesnt specify…. one cup?
The Food Servings Guides have been updated to include a wider variety of options. A serving size of 1/2 a cup is recommended for all types of berries, for nectarines and peaches we recommend 1 medium sized fruit and a serve of grapes would be roughly half a cup.
We wouldn’t recommend more than 2 serves of fruit a day just because it is higher in natural sugars. You could have the fruit at any time of the day you wish, this should not be an issue at all- some may like to have a piece of fruit after dinner as a sweet but healthy alternative to dessert.
